English Speaking Moose

Officially formed in November 2009, English Speaking Moose was founded by three longtime friends and award-winning performers (Keith Saltojanes, Markeia McCarty, Kevin Allen) who manipulate time and space, command the elements, and forge history in their wake. They were originally the house team of iO West's Ok, Intriguing Comedy Show every Wednesday. Next they became part of Saturday night's ADT Smash Night series. Then they started hosting their very own popular show and became a resident team, every Tuesday in the Del Close Theater at iO West called The One Hour Improv Festival. Currently performing the form The Thrasher, The Moose proceeds to do a scenic deconstruction exploring the themes and deeper truths of the suggested location. Be there, while they find meaning in chaos. Chances are it will be dark, but that will only make you laugh harder. Collectively, the Moose has studied at the UCB Theatre, iO West, Second City, National Conservatory Theatre Programs, and all have studied extensively with the Miles Stroth Workshop. ESM hosts and performs in a weekly Improv Showcase at iO West's Del Close Theater every Tuesday. Check out The One Hour Improv Festival. And also performs earlier in the night at Longform Tuesdays at The Complex Theatre (as part of The Miles Stroth Workshops) Ladies and Gentlemen, English Speaking Moose ------- Directed by: Brian O'Connell With Recurring Members: Miles Stroth and Emily Candini ------- Awards: Official Selections: 2012 Los Angeles Improv Comedy Festival 2011 Los Angeles Improv Comedy Festival 2011 Valley Improv Festival 2011 Los Angeles Comedy Festival Awards: 2011 Del Close Award Nominee: Best DCT Show 2011 Del Close Award Nominee: Best Line (Markeia McCarty) 2012 INNY Award Nominee: Best Long Form Group
